  1. ehhh not exacty, for example in ASE I didn't have Genesis and therefore I didn't have access to Strider and I found myself in situations where I went to some places to collect something specific (for example the Fjordur cave for NonameVenom) and while I was picking the first node here a Strider passed over me which completely ruined my journey, in the time in which I had collected 2 poisons that Straider had cleaned the entire cave. Is it pay2win? I couldn't classify it.. If we want to give a PVP example, without Genesis (worse if I only had Ark with only TheIsland) I wouldn't have access to Shadowmane-Astrodelphis-Astrocetus-etc. and also to some structures like Ammobox etc.. is it pay2win? maybe.. In ASA the maps and their resources/dinos will be accessible to everyone in the same way, but when a new map is released that I might not want to buy but that map contains some animals or weapons OP and you buy that DLC you are paying2win ? Between you and me, I think that in Ark this concept is a bit controversial to judge, in PVE I can enjoy the game to the full even without purchasing any package that would create advantages so in my opinion I would completely exclude PVE from this discussion , while in PVP I don't think we can talk about P2W until we can buy something like "temporary immortality" "paid protections" "statistical advantages" etc. etc. that can put any player in a situation not accessible to the opponent without having to pay in turn just to get on par, the addition of Dinos/objects/weapons/resources via a new map is almost at the limit of the concept but each of those However, things can be obtained by anyone who is capable of conquering them through beaten or defeated opponents (therefore through your skill and without a payment behind you) they are not advantages that can be obtained exclusively through payment. All of this is obviously just my personal opinion.
  2. Excuse my "facepalm" but I don't understand how we can judge something we DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS YET. The only information I read about the features is: - it will be possible to build on it (we don't know what the limit number of structures is or its maximum dimensions in height and width, not even if all the structures will be allowed). - you will be able to transport animals (we don't know if the weight affects how many animals you can transport and how they will be able to interact or not be able to interact with something outside the "platform"). - this base will be able to move on the ground or in flight (we don't know at what speed, if the weight of the structures/dinos will influence it and in what way, we don't know if the journey will have a limited autonomy similar to the consumption of stamina, it could even work itself as you said that in order to build or interact it must be stationed on the ground). - the platform will provide protection from wild threats but not from other players (my inference is that, simply, anything within the inner radius of this "platform" will be ignored by the wild dinos without attracting their agro). Any other hypothesis of ours can only be a speculation until we know the complete details of its functioning, so I don't think it's yet the time to exaggerate with the criticisms and comments on this package which in my opinion does not seem suitable no pay2win since we already have a buildable and flying Quetz, obtainable by anyone already in the first TheIsland map. I play in Official (therefore Vanilla version and without Mods) and at first glance I find it "interesting" even for new Players who start Ark without yet knowing the mechanics and difficulties, and above all it can be useful to all those in PVE who complain about the "pillaring", providing a way to build the entire base in relative safety and mobility (we will then see how WC will manage any reports of "stationing in specific places" according to CoC). We can't yet comment on PVP because we don't know the details, it could be immortal or not attackable, it might not be able to get close to a certain distance from an opponent's base, it might not be usable in PVP, it could only be mobile under certain conditions, it could. .. it could... but we don't know yet. Side note: even here on the Forum we have always encouraged WC to expand its Shop to obtain some extra funding that could help fix the problems of the game or in any case increase the budget that can be used in Ark, well now that they have started to to do so I would suggest helping them with suggestions and constructive criticism to improve them, not just club them according to our personal preferences.
  3. @parazight @Pipinghot ...stop guys... you are stubborn against each other, this only leads to you not understanding each other. Put the battle ax aside and take a deep breath before continuing if you want to have a "constructive" speech
  4. Hi, even if you are in PVE mode you should be able to kill your Dino&Baby using any type of weapon with your character (not with your other dinos from TheIsland), but from my tests in Official PVE it seems that in ASA you don't get them plus XP points from the kill. If it's not possible for you to damage your Dinos, maybe you should try to see if you have the "friendly fire" mode turned off.
  5. Hi, "hide sail" works correctly for me (XBox - Server Official). Excuse my ignorance but, what do you mean by "lowering the raft"?
  6. hi, I suggest you do some tests manually, i.e. try dropping the eggs (from your inventory) onto the platform and check where they stay and if Oviraptor picks them up, then try dropping them directly under the platform and check if Oviraptor picks them up , then try to place a couple of Yuty on the platform and mate them, when it lays the egg check where it is positioned and if Oviraptor picks it up. If each of these tests works correctly then it's most likely just what @FeyGriffin said (same inference I also had to your OP), otherwise one possibility is that eggs falling through ceilin (see @Pipinghot 's answer) could go to end up beyond the Mesh and not be picked up by Oviraptor since the latter needs a couple of seconds before picking up (and therefore now too far away). Side note: Eggs generally have some issues right now, a recent patch fixed something but compromised something else (previously you dropped the egg and it was left floating, now it falls to the ground but first it rolls a few meters before to return to the correct position, and after this Patch the excrements get stuck under the ground instead of above, so there could actually be some strange problem in your case). Let us know how your tests went
  7. For ASA or ASE? ASE = Shadowmane + Yuty (or + Stego and Shotgun) In ASA we haven't Tek Dinos Spawn on TheIsland
  8. I'm not an expert on private servers but, do dedicated servers need to be saved in game? Isn't it the Server that holds the data?
  9. On XBox: GamePass, or at least the Gold subscription, is required to access the online features (it is also written in the game description in the Store/packaging). You should be able to play Single Player without problems precisely because the game has been purchased entirely, if it was downloaded via Gamepass then you will have to have it active even just to start the game, this applies to practically all games on XBox now.
  10. To tell the truth, I have received a maximum of 20 sap since the first placement more than a month ago, I have never tried to collect a single piece to see what happens.
  11. ..and continuing with the mutations, the Tek Rex will be able to receive more since the "cap level" of the Tek creatures is higher than the normal ones (500 Tek level - 450 normal level, with Vanilla settings). Also, the normal Rex you got seems like a max level wild to me (150 or very close, right?), remember that Tek wilds can reach level 180 so it's possible that you can also find something better to integrate into the coupling line, although both Rexes you proposed already have optimal stats.
  12. Especially for people like me who don't use Discord, your good summary at least keeps us updated. TY! PS: it would be interesting this Friday to receive a good first Community Crounch structured in a decent way, with info about how they are dealing with these problems (I would also add the disastrous delay and elastic).
  13. Dinos in "neutral" and "attack my target" modes will not have any reaction until a Survivor or Dino of the Tribe is damaged, they will not attack even when something tries to attack you but fails to touch you (when you hear the battle music someone is trying to hit you but none of your Dinos will react until you actually get touched, so you can run away without anyone engaging in the fight). The difference between "neutral" and "attack my target: in "attack my target" your Dinos will always attack the animal that is attacking your character, if you are fighting a Carno and a Raptor where the Raptor is harming everyone they will attack the Raptor even if the Carno hits them, at the moment the Raptor runs away he will be chased but if at that moment the Carno hits you then everyone will flock towards the Carno while in "neutral" mode they would continue to chase the Raptor, so in "neutral" they will fight against whoever is hitting them without changing their objective if something hits you (this is why in Boss Arenas it is more logical to put "neutral" otherwise the army could be distracted from attacking the Boss if a minion hits you ). As for the "agro ray" it should work just as you imagine because it affects the distance between the two animals in question, I use it for example on the Argi and the Dimorphodons: if I am around with some of them as an escort I will I always keep at least 1 with minimum range and in "attack my target" to increase my defense on the character when others are already chasing something that then moves away, this is not your case but the concept is that they should only attack within the set radius and they should stop attacking when their target goes out of that range even when other Dinos continue the chase if set with greater range, and it should also apply with your Calicotherios in the turret if set with different ranges (I'm not sure about this, the the only turrets that I use/used are Yuty-Velona-CristalWyrm-Magmar but for the uses I make of them it wasn't useful for me to have differentiated distances)
  14. Yes, it seems to be normal in ASA too. The Wild Baby are an exception, I happened to see pairs of W.Baby where only one of the two scored 2 levels higher than his brother.
  15. Hi, sorry for the question but: does only a small green icon with no writing appear above your Bary? Or do you see all the text in green "Baryonix lv xxx"? If you only see the icon then you have the "reduced names" setting enabled and in this case to view the dino's name you must look at the center of that icon, this option can be changed in the settings. There are two different settings that affect the floating names of Player and Dino.
